Listen. I know it's not much comfort, but the fact that you are so welcoming and loving to your stepdaughter will have a huge impact on her life, even if you can't see her as much as you'd like. Every time you've written about her, I feel you pain -- but the overwhelming feeling I get is, that is one really lucky kid. Not many children have a stepmother who even wants them around, much less welcomes them and misses them and agonizes over the time without them. I know it's hard to be apart, but you can do a lot from far away.

Hello I just found you today and I am madly in love with your diary (hehe) all of it!! Also I have older half brothers and sister who I adore and my dads fiance (though shes nice now) used to do everything she could to make it difficult for me to see them even if it broke their hearts. she once told them they just weren't important to me and I didn't love them! I love your site. I am a step daughter & wish I would have had, the love you feel for Amanda.I tried so hard to make my step mother like me but she wouldnt, couldn't. i pray you find a good path for all of you.
