Until we moved my mom this summer, we were all in dread of the day we would have to clean out her house. Thankfully a move with her in tow was better. That said - one of the 'quirky' things that I found (after we'd left) was a set of nudey slides of my mom taken in the 50's - and not by my father. Too weird - and made me go - ewwwww! :-) Now I can smile about it.

I remember going through all my uncle's stuff with my dad, when my uncle died. There were a lot of really great moments, and a lot of really painful ones. But I got closer to my dad and felt closer to my uncle, as well as my cousin (his daughter), because she stuck with us to learn more baout her dad from mine. Both of us started to see things as heirlooms that we might otherwise have seen as dispoable because we didn't know the stories behind them- until then. I'm glad you got to know your husband better, and that you had such a lovely mother in law while she was around. I'm also impressed that you seem to have such a healthy outlook on all this. And lastly, maybe most important, I hope your husband recovers from his emotional lost in the way best for him and ends up happy.

I must be the worst friend in the entire world. I don't know how I missed the entry of your precious angel's passing, but I did. My heart hurts for you and your family. I am so sorry I didn't send you my sympathy earlier. Love you hon. Take care and let me know if you need anything.
