Yes, throwing your temper is a bad thing, especially when it's unwarranted (such as overreacting) or preventable (such as walking out of the room); however, I think some people keep pushing and pushing, saying mean things all of the time, and then I think when the other person pushes back, it's not unwarranted... perhaps even a long time in coming. Everybody has their breaking point and some people can hold it in for a long time - and I think your husband has had that strength - but it doesn't last forever, I don't think. Don't worry about the details too much, because that's not the most important thing anyway... but I am glad to hear that you are both feeling comfortable in your marriage right now. It's a good point to reach; whereas it is the exact opposite point reached with the brother, but maybe they are both related to certain feelings settling to a point for good... and his relationship with his brother certainly wouldn't have been comfortable in its previous way, and it could have been a relationship that could not be reconciled to a nice, happy relationship... I use the word could only because I'm not in the situation to say for sure, but I'm just saying what it looks like, though.

I'm glad you've written again. Even if you think you've just rambled - you didn't. I've been worried about you since you'd last written. Everything I want to write here sounds so cliche, and all I want to do is encourage you. Well, know that you are being lifted up, even if I can't find the right words.
